Job description
IBM's Domestic Delivery Center in downtown Dubuque, Iowa, is seeking Technical Support Specialists responsible for providing support for problem tickets and steady state activities for Integration Operations. The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for the overall communication, technical solution ownership, and management of the TUAM (Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager) solution focusing on account operations and defining service requests throughout the life-cycle of the TUAM application.

Primary Job Responsibilities include:
  • Resolve errors and issues with TUAM data collections that did not complete or load successfully and rerun scans as required.
  • Troubleshoot tools, scripts, and systems.
  • Analyze customer data requirements for new projects.
  • Write and maintain scripts that collect and convert data, that interface with DB2 databases, that perform database queries and reporting, and that transfer data from multiple systems to the main application server.
  • Manage time sensitive monthly and year end closing processes.
  • Track all requests, incidents, problems, and changes via ticketing system.
  • Work with peer teams locally and globally.
  • Act as mentor and trainer to less experienced coworkers.
  • Look for opportunities to automate manual processes.
  • User ID maintenance and access control

    Remote work is not available. All work is conducted at IBM's Dubuque, Iowa Domestic Delivery Center. Relocation to Dubuque, Iowa is required and reimbursement is not provided.
  • Required
    • High School Diploma/GED
    • At least 6 months experience in UNIX scripting
    • At least 6 months experience in application or tools support
    • Basic knowledge in XML
    • Basic knowledge in network (firewall and ports)
    • U.S. citizenship required
    • English: Fluent
    Preferred
    • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
    • At least 3 years experience in UNIX scripting
    • At least 2 years experience in application or tools support
    • At least 2 years experience in SQL
    • At least 2 years experience in Perl programming
    • At least 1 year experience in XML
    • At least 1 year experience in Cognos or other reporting tool (such as Crystal)
    • At least 1 year experience in administering TUAM (Tivoli Usage and Accounting Manager)
    • At least 1 year experience in using, administering, and maintaining DB2 or other database
