Job description
Actively seeking multiple Information Technology Specialists interested in making an impact. You must be self motivated to do your best, ready to interact with a variety of other smart and highly motivated people daily and work in a changing environment where no two days are ever the same.

The Technical Specialist candidates identified will be assigned to either IBM Software or IBM Hardware Systems groups. Positions are located in major cities across the US.

Software Specialists could work with any of the following brands either in a mainframe (System z) or distributed software environment: Business Intelligence, Lotus, Information Management, WebSphere, Tivoli, Rational, Commerce Solutions, Enterprise Content Management, Security .

Hardware Specialists could work with any of the following hardware brands: Power Systems, System x, System z or Storage Systems.

During the first twelve months of this dynamic position as a Technical Specialist, you will be a trainee in the Sales & Distribution (S&D) Summit Program. Your time as a Summit Trainee will consist of extensive technical training and shadowing, and consultative sales training to enable you to match the technical capabilities of IBM offerings to client requirements.

A considerable amount of travel is required during training. Previous trainees have traveled for training to places like New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Toronto, St. Louis, Kansas City, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Chicago, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Following the training period you will become a “subject matter expert,” consulting with clients of all sizes and across various industry sectors, leveraging your technical expertise to assist your sales counterparts and maintain client satisfaction. As a Technical Specialist, you will be part of the client account team and drive revenue through in-depth, complex technical demonstrations, designing solutions, technical evaluations, and/or proof-of-concepts.
