The Summit Intern Program within the IBM US Sales & Distribution division is searching for top-quality MBA students with a passion for sales and an interest in professional relationship building for Client Representative internships. This is a summer 2014 position.

During the internship you will work directly with current Client Representatives and other IBM sales professionals to lead and assist with sales and marketing opportunities at clients and contribute to the day-to-day sales operations of the team. Additionally, as a Client Representative Intern, you will have the opportunity to network throughout all levels of the robust IBM organization, which will enable you to form contacts and gain insights on future opportunities within IBM. The IBM Client Representative is responsible for the total client relationship with one or more IBM clients, providing one face and one IBM strategy for the client. The Client Representative has primary responsibility for identifying and prioritizing opportunities and developing client-valued solutions involving IBM software, hardware, and services. Additionally, the Client Representative maintains a thorough understanding of the client's industry, including industry trends, financial measurements, and key client competitors in their industry.

Applicants should be considering a career in sales and should have a passion for interacting with clients to help them solve business problems through the application of technology and services. You should have business acumen and a desire to learn about sales initiatives and how to close business deals. In addition, you should also enjoy daily interaction and teaming with other smart and highly motivated IBM teammates.

The ideal Client Representative Intern should:
• Demonstrate a passion for sales
• Have at least 3-5 years of prior sales and/or industry experience
• Be able to independently travel to local IBM clients and meetings
• Possess analytical skills and a solid understanding of financial principles
• Be a self starter and have demonstrated leadership experience
• Display empathy and possess people and teaming skills
• Possess the technical ability to help develop business solutions
• Possess written and oral communication skills
• Be enrolled as an MBA student and have completed their 1st year of MBA studies by the start of the internship
